But before we explain the step-by-step approach of immigrating to Canada using the Canadian Express Entry program, let’s briefly take you through the nitty-gritty of the program.

Express Entry Program

The Express Entry Program is the fastest way to migrate to Canada as a skilled worker. The program was launched in January 2015 by the Canadian government with a view to managing the barrage of applications received from prospective immigrants who are interested in visiting the country leveraging any of the country’s economic immigrant programs including Federal Skilled Trades, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Worker.

If you are interested in any of these programs and you meet the required criteria, you can create a profile and submit an expression of interest application for a permanent residency.

Now, you know what the Express Entry Program is about; let’s now take you through the step by step approach to submitting an application.

Step 1: Determine Whether Or Not You’re Eligible For The Program

You need to determine whether or not you have what it takes to apply for the program. There are two ways to find out your eligibility.

You may either answer a few questions or check the official Government of Canada’s Eligibility for Express Entry Programs page to read through the program’s guidelines.

Some questions to expect would be about your nationality, age, language ability, family members, education, details of any job offer, and work experiences, among others.

Based on your answers to these questions, the system will tell you the perfect program that will increase the chances of your application to be approved.

Step 2: Get Your Documents Handy

Once you are eligible for any of the programs, the next step would be to get your documents handy. One of the most important documents needed is language test results. You can get a full list of other documents in the Documents for Express Entry page.

Please note that the documents required for each of the programs are different. So be meticulous when checking the documents for the program you’re interested in.

Step 3: Setup A Profile And Submit Your Application

After getting your documents handy, the next step is to visit the official portal to set up a profile, where you will provide all your information.

Fill out the form, pay the required fees, and upload your documents. After completing the application forms, hit the submit button to submit your application.

If your documents are genuine and information about you is correct, the system will automatically select you into a pool of candidates.

The system will then use a point-based system to rank your application in the Express Entry Pool of candidates. Your score is generally based on the information you provided during the application stage.

Step 4: You Will Be Invited To Apply For Permanent Residence

If your application meets the criteria and requirements of the Express Entry Program, you will receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence.

Generally, the candidates with the highest scores in the pool are selected first. So, once you receive an invitation, proceed immediately to apply for permanent residence. You have 60 days max to submit the application.

If you have been invited to apply, visit the Permanent Residence Application Page to apply.

After applying for a permanent residence, the Immigration department will convey their approval for you to immigrate to Canada.

From all of us here, we wish you success as you kick-start the process of immigrating to Canada.

Good luck!
